Steve Named NSAI "One To Watch" For the Fourth Time
I'm grateful to be recognized by the Nashville Songwriters Association International for the fourth time for my unreleased song "Fault Lines." I was previously recognized for the songs "American Kids" (recorded and released by Bearing Torches), "Devil Comes To Town," and "After 2AM." NSAI writes that songwriters included in their "Ones To Watch" section "are being recognized by our evaluators as writers who are on the rise! These members have gotten the attention of our evaluators for their unique and promising writing skills. Keep an eye on these folks… they just keep getting better!" Be on the lookout for more dates, videos, and info coming soon, and you can learn more about the group at www.wilsonofficial.com.
Amy Black Memphis Tour 2017
This June & July I'll be joining Memphis-style soul artist Amy Black on her 27-city Memphis tour in support of her new album of the same name. Pop Matters writes, "[Amy] Black has thoroughly absorbed the Memphis sound, incorporating the chugging rhythm, spritely horns, and soulful beats. Meanwhile, her voice and method of interpretation echo the greats like Dusty Springfield, Mavis Staples, and Ann Peebles. And let’s not forget the huge importance of Memphis in the blues world as Black’s music bridges the worlds of blues and soul.” Throughout the tour I'll be playing keys and singing background vocals on not only Amy's original songs, but also on tunes by greats like Otis Redding, Al Green, Bobby Blue Bland, and more.
